This company was established in 1947 amid the chaos of the early post-war years, under the name “Tokyo Denki Komusho,” out of a desire to support the supply of electric power to help the effort to reconstruct Japan. For 75 years—three quarters of a century—as the country has grown and developed, we have remained committed to the business of construction and maintenance for the electric power industry, to honor our mission, as a construction company, of protecting the country’s public infrastructure.
Since 2001, when the company’s name was changed to the current “Tokyo Energy & Systems,” we have worked to address social issues through the pursuit of energy and system design and construction, always faithful to the Group’s basic principle of “building a more reliable foundation for living.”
In the face of continual electric power system reforms and striking changes in social and economic circumstances, we are strengthening our technological capabilities in the fields of hydroelectric, thermal, nuclear, and substation power, as part of our core businesses. At the same time, we are focusing on renewable energy and electrical equipment construction for buildings and production facilities, on energy solutions for high-efficiency energy utilization and energy-saving, and on data and communications equipment construction. In all these ways, we are addressing a broad range of customer needs and offering one-stop, high value-added services.
As we promote organizational restructuring to enhance our core businesses, we are also cultivating “green energy” as a new pillar of our operations, because we see the worldwide trend toward carbon-neutral societies as an opportunity. We plan to concentrate on schemes in which we play an active and leading role and to diversity our business model.
In accordance with our basic principle of “building a more reliable foundation for living,” we are striving to boost our competitiveness and guarantee safety, quality, and environmental conservation. At the same time, even as we continue to earn the trust and loyalty of our customers, we are challenging ourselves to achieve further growth and development.
